Free School Meals

Reception, year 1 and year 2 ​

All children in reception, year 1 and year 2 are automatically entitled to free school meals under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.

You need to apply for the pupil premium via West Northamptonshire Council (additional school funding for disadvantaged children to improve the quality of their education) if your child's school is in West Northamptonshire. The child must reside with the applicant. Apply for pupil premium up to year 2

Year 3 and above

You can apply for the pupil premium via West Northamptonshire Council for free school meals (£2.58 towards the cost of each meal) for older children in full-time education up to the age of 18 if you are in receipt of certain benefits and they attend a school in West Northamptonshire.

School Holiday Vouchers

If your child gets free school meals because of your benefits, you can get help with food during the school holidays.

• You can apply online for one food voucher per child to cover all the school holidays during this time
• Each voucher is worth £15 per child for each week of the holidays
• You can also ask for a Winter Coat Voucher when you apply for the holiday food voucher - you cannot apply for the Winter Coat Voucher on its own
