PSHE - Secondary

Our pupils are at the heart of our PSHE curriculum.

Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education sits at the heart of our commitment to nurturing confident, resilient and well rounded young people.

At Northampton International Academy, we believe that PSHE is essential in helping students understand themselves, build healthy relationships, make informed choices, and develop the character and life skills needed to thrive in an ever changing world.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to support students’ personal development, wellbeing and safety. It provides structured opportunities to explore topics such as mental health, relationships, identity, online safety, financial literacy and future aspirations. Through PSHE, students learn how to navigate challenges, celebrate diversity, and contribute positively to their community.

To deliver high quality, age appropriate and engaging PSHE lessons, we use two evidence based platforms:

  • Jigsaw – a comprehensive, spiral curriculum that promotes emotional literacy, mindfulness, and personal growth.
  • Bounce Forward – a resilience building programme that equips students with practical strategies to manage stress, develop optimism, and strengthen their wellbeing. Together, these platforms help us create a PSHE provision that is inclusive, empowering and responsive to the needs of our students. Our aim is simple: to ensure every young person feels safe, valued and prepared for life beyond the classroom.
