Sixth Form Tasters

We are delighted to be able to offer some NIA Sixth Form taster sessions running from Monday 24th June until Thursday 27th June. We recommend attendance to Taster sessions for all learners who have already applied to our Sixth Form, but we will also welcome learners who are still considering their Post-16 options.

If you would like to attend these sessions, then please complete the Taster Session form as soon as possible.

You will need to select one of the ‘Welcome to NIA’ sessions and then one session for each subject you are interested in. You do not have to stick to the subjects that you have already applied for and if you are still considering a range of options, we recommend you attend as many different sessions as possible to get a full range subject experiences and help you select your Sixth Form courses.

You will be expected to sign in at 10:50 and sign out at 14:50 every day that you plan on attending sessions.

Once you are on school site, you will be expected to stay for the whole day to replicate Sixth Form timetables, which include periods of Independent Study to reinforce and revise your learning in lessons.

If you are not in a Subject Session, you will be provided with study space and expected to complete a range of independent tasks relating to the subjects you are interested in studying. These will be given to you in the form of an Independent Learning Booklet when you arrive.

The NIA Sixth Form dress code is smart, business attire. No trainers, logos, tracksuits, denim or short skirts to be worn please.

If you completed Y11 at NIA, you will be able to purchase food from the onsite serveries during the Taster Week. If you are a non-NIA applicant, you will need to bring a packed lunch with you.
